So they've played the palling-around-with-terrorists card. It's almost like they want to make sure that they don't respect themselves when this is all over.

About 5-10% of my students said they "didn't believe Obama was a Christian" in a recent in-class writing... and a greater percentage said they wouldn't vote for him because he doesn't put his hand over his heart when he says the pledge of allegiance (or a variation on that theme: that he refuses to say the Pledge altogether).
Where do you think this kind of collective un-wisdom comes from? My point is that the Elaine Benes technique might actually resonate among... certain... "folks."
